Amendments to Russian Migration Law

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the following main amendments to Russian immigration law entered into force on February 15, 2011:

- Foreign nationals may be registered only at their place of residence (for instance, rented apartment, hotel, etc.). It is no longer possible to register at an employer’s address. The employer may still arrange the registration, at the residential address, as long as the landlord has supplied a Power of Attorney

- Foreign nationals with a work permit for highly qualified specialists do no longer need to be registered if they stay in Russia for less than 90 calendar days.
